It was installed on a very tight budget, but it needed to look somewhat special but not over-the-top for the neighborhood. More than anything, however, it needed to be xeriscaped, low maintenance, and well-drained. This was achieved with the removal of the lawn, installation of the functional dry creek which has a drain leading into a dry well, strategically-placed berms, water-draining pavers, and drought-tolerant plants.
