Garden Care

I nurture your garden. Whether or not I designed your garden, I want to help you take care of it. I treat your garden as though it were my own.

Many clients have asked me to provide minor gardening help. As opposed to "landscape maintenance", which is customarily performed by "mow & blow" guys, I provide personal care of your investment with small but necessary gardening tasks and lots of nurturing.

Garden Care, or "Garden Coaching" as the latest buzz words go, includes:

  • Gardening advice
  • Garden evaluation
  • Solving problems
  • Garden maintenance
    • Pruning (shrubs, young trees, perennials, grasses)
    • Trimming
    • Plant health evaluation
    • Irrigation check, evaluation and minor fixes
    • Organic fertilization and organic pest control
  • Minor planting of perennials and shrubs and annuals
  • Container planting magic
  • Tree staking
  • Mulch application
  • Miscellaneous small gardening tasks

I work solo for those who just want me to "get it done", or side-by-side with clients who wish to learn as we go -- usually the do-it-yourselfers.

I have been gardening for nearly 20 years, seven of them in the Sacramento and Foothill areas, in residential communities, on acreage, and with and without deer. Armed with a degree in Environmental Horticulture, I am continually educating myself in every aspect of landscaping and gardening -- just for fun.

Rates are hourly. Please call me to discuss your needs.             (530) 305-4337

Exterior Home Staging

I create curb appeal from the moment the prospective home buyer stops the car. I coordinate an arborist to clean the trees, borrow patio furnishings and focal pieces, create eye-catching arrangements, dress up the beds with clean mulch...and assure the landscape looks equally great from inside the house.

Vacation Garden Care

Don't leave your garden completely unattended during vacation or extended business trips.

Irrigation system failures can occur, deer may break through deer fencing, extreme or prolonged heat can kill your plants unless you provide additional watering, unexpected snow storms can damage tender plants, potted plants need individual watering.... Don't go away hoping your garden will be fine. Trust a real gardener to take care of your investment while you're gone.
